FLAIR co-founders, Nii Cleland and Darrell Coker, make Forbes 30 under 30

“That’s one off the bucket list!” - Nii Cleland on securing a coveted spot on the prestigious Forbes 30 Under 30 list.

In fact, BOTH of the FLAIR Co-Founders made the cut. Darrell Coker, FLAIR co-founder and cousin to CEO Nii, made it a family affair. ‘I couldn’t ask for a better partner to be changing the world with via FLAIR!’

It was less than 2 years ago when FLAIR pivoted from a social media app to building an analytics engine to progress racial equity. So, it is a very proud moment for the team to see our co-founders Nii Cleland and Darrell Coker achieve this incredible milestone in recognition of how far we have come since.

If you’re unfamiliar, the Forbes 30 Under 30 is a series of annual lists featuring people under the age of 30, who are doing great things in the world.

Nii and Darrell made it onto the list due to FLAIR’s work helping leading organisations (inc. The Premier League, EY and the NHS) break down the barriers to racial equity. FLAIR presents employees with a safe platform to share their lived experiences while the data analytics engine uncovers bias blindspots, benchmarks racial equity performance, and generates roadmaps to meaningful action on DE&I.

Unsurprisingly published by Forbes magazine, the inaugural list debuted in 2011 with 12 categories. By 2016, more than 15,000 people had submitted suggestions for the list, with Forbes editors selecting 30 winners in each of the 20 categories. Fast-forward to the present day and publishing giants boast various regional editions and lists in a huge number of different sectors. To round it off, Forbes also hosts related conferences, has a 30 Under 30 section on its website and even has a 30 Under 30 social media app.

The intention of the lists being to give “millennial-focused programming to the magazine’s many influential consumers,” according to the Washington Post.

Both Nii and Darrell would like to thank everyone who nominated them, the judges at Forbes who selected them, FLAIR’s investors, and (of course) the incredible team at FLAIR who made this possible.

This is just the beginning 🚀
