Kiki Nartey (Relationship Manager/ Education Lead) will be speaking at a BSA webinar: Developing an inclusive strategy through pupil voice.

Flair’s Relationship Manager and Education Lead Kiki Nartey will be speaking at a webinar with the Boarding School’s Association. The webinar is focusing on developing an inclusive strategy through pupil voice. The event takes place on the 6th May at 3 pm and is aimed at Headteachers, Deputy Headteachers, Inclusion Leads, Boarding Staff and Teaching Support Staff.

Kiki will be speaking alongside Louise Fahey, Diversity and Inclusion Co-ordinator and Head of 4th Year at Caterham School. Louise has been teaching for over 25 years in a range of schools, so diversity and inclusion has been central to her teaching career. Louise has also worked as Croydon’s Young Carers support teacher and established a mental health service for young refugees and asylum seekers. Louise now works at Caterham School as Diversity and Inclusion Co-ordinator and Head of 4th Year.

This session will explore practical approaches to improving diversity and inclusion within schools. The four key areas that will be covered are:

  • encouraging an active pupil body through co-curricular provision
  • using pupil voice to guide staff training and /or changes to the curriculum
  • creating an effective pastoral response to EDI issues
  • using pupil voice to develop the school EDI strategy

Kiki and Louise will talk about their own experiences of implementing positive change within schools. There will also be a Q and A session, which will provide an opportunity to consider how these strategies could work within your own schools. Attendees will leave a greater understanding of the benefits of pupil’s voice and increased confidence in using this effectively within their own communities.

The webinar will take place on Zoom and a link will be sent to registered delegates
